A friend loaned me her infrared converted Canon G10 to play with for a few days.  I’ve always wanted to try an IR converted camera and always imaged it would be a DSLR.  Getting the chance to carry around a compact point-and-shoot with the conversion is bonus.  It seems that most photographers I know who have a converted camera use it to capture stunning black & white landscapes, but I am more intrigued by the results from using it on portraits.

I had the camera with me today while having lunch with some friends and captured this natural light close-up of Alexis from across the table.  I love how the IR portrays her skin-tone and hair & eye color.  I am going to continue carrying around the camera for a few more days to see what else the IR can capture in a new and different way.  Who knows, maybe I will take it into the studio and see what I can create under studio lights.
