On this image, if I recall correctly, I used all natural light. I don’t remember for sure (I should write things down). The only other possibility is that I added a speedlight for fill at around my usual -2/3 stop (though exif data says “flash did not fire”).
This is an example of using an overcast day to your advantage. The soft light combined with the refection off of the metal railing made for a nice ‘natural looking’ scene with flattering light.

Your pictures are always very well exposed with excellent lighting. Could you provide us with an idea of how you lit the subject in this photograph?
